Daviza Travelers' Tales

"The Daviza roundtrip I made with together with my father was really something very special! Romania is a beautiful country with so much to offer, but how much of its richness can you really take away with you when you’re on your own? As an experienced traveler I know that you can’t put together a trip such as the one we were on without a pretty good knowledge of the local situation. And that’s exactly where Daviza has its strength! David and Izabella had organized a trip for us that contained everything – culture, nature, visiting people in their homes – and we enjoyed all of it intensely!

I personally loved the Daviza concept of beginning each day with a good walk in the countryside before doing some cultural sightseeing, because the landscape is really lovely and so inviting for the nature-lover.

Because Daviza is so small, they can also afford to be very flexible. In short, this little company has all the ingredients necessary for true success! If it were up to me, I would want to travel this way all the time, no matter where I was going!

I almost forgot to mention the palinka! Delicious!

David and Izabella, thanks!"

"It was one of our best trips and David took us everywhere - we developed a wonderful sense of the vast stretches of wild, untouched forest, hiked through pastures and farmlands, visited and saw many towns and cities, stayed in farms and homes, climbed the wooden and painted churches and attended services, visited painted graveyards and gypsy camps as well as other points of interest. Because David speaks many languages (among them fluent English, Hungarian and Romanian) we were introduced to, stayed with and got to know many people in many cultures in the country. He has an extensive knowledge of this complex country, its many cultural influences, complex and sometimes difficult history and place as a crossroads in Europe.

I highly recommend the tour David provides - and he can tailor it to whatever you want (or don't want) to see or do in that huge country. "

"Anyone who enjoys travelling off the beaten-track, hospitable people, authentic overnight stays, beautiful monasteries, an untouched rural culture (which looks like it just escaped from a Brueghel painting), and who enjoys nature walks should not miss out on a Daviza Tour. But also because...time is a different concept in Romania and this turned out to be something of a new experience for us. Well recommended because of the tour itself but also because of the excellent tourguiding."

"Travelling through Romania with Daviza Tours: a new experience altogether!

This is your chance to get to know this relatively unknown part of Europe in a pleasant and laid-back atmosphere. Very interesting too, as the tourguides are very versatile: Language, culture and history hold few secrets for David and Izabella. Go ahead and question them on anything! The nature walks through through very scenic landscapes kept our spirits fresh and high and also gave us the possibility to meet locals on the way. A very nice experience altogether.

The tours can be perfectly combined with a few days in Budapest before after the tour!"
